Eclectic Endeavours

I absolutely love capturing all types of moments during my times of travel, day trips or just because. :) This blog is all about having a creative outlet for all of my creative inspirations and aspirations.

My Element

Anything having to do w/ the arts is where I can be in my element. From sketching, to photographing, to pottery and painting, to graphic design... etc. etc. etc. ♥

What type of camera do you use?

I use the best kind of camera. The one that I have with me at the moment the photo is taken. It could be my Samsung Galaxy cell phone or my Nikon D40 or D90 or heck... even your phone! :)

Illustration Friday -- Layers

Here's another little ode to Starbucks. This week's topic was: Layers and what a better way to show layers than to illustrate their Caramel Macchiato. :D

Next week's topic: Swarm

Feeling off...

Today my lil guy and I skipped school and work after waking up feeling sick. Since I'd bought some canvases at Wally World (a.k.a. Wal-mart) yesterday, we decided to paint. I attempted to use the Right Brain approach with my son so that he would focus on the form, not the figure. I scanned an image from "Anatomy for Artists" by Marion Boddy-Evans; a book that my lil guy gave me for my birthday. :) I scanned the image so that I wouldn't get paint on the book. For a six year old with not much exposure to acrylics, I think he did a great job! I haven't taught him to use paints, yet, but that's in the works.

Acrylic on a 12" x 12" canvas

In an attempt to rid my mind of strenuous thoughts, I decided to grab the scanned image and write all over it. I used a black household ink pen and marked up the body. I think I like this one enough to produce a finalized piece. Yeah... I think that's what I'll do. Uh huh.

Multi-Tasking

During days I have to attend conferences, instead of merely allowing my butt to fall asleep, I sketch! It makes my time go by faster. And yes, I do pay attention to the conference since I control the presentation slides and receive updates via notes passed to me. Ha! Seriously...
