Eclectic Endeavours

I absolutely love capturing all types of moments during my times of travel, day trips or just because. :) This blog is all about having a creative outlet for all of my creative inspirations and aspirations.

My Element

Anything having to do w/ the arts is where I can be in my element. From sketching, to photographing, to pottery and painting, to graphic design... etc. etc. etc. ♥

What type of camera do you use?

I use the best kind of camera. The one that I have with me at the moment the photo is taken. It could be my Samsung Galaxy cell phone or my Nikon D40 or D90 or heck... even your phone! :)

My Photo has been .... stolen! Grrrrrrr!

Believe it or not folks, my photo was stolen. I say stolen because they cropped my name off the photo and did not give me credit for the design, much less, the photo. It really, really bugs me when people do that, in general. It happens on FB where people use my photo as their profile without asking and CROP off my name. Come on people! If you like how you came out in a photo, please give a girl some credit!
There's that thin red line when it comes to creative license vs the product/person in the photo. I've been down that road too many times. =/
In this case, I designed the Hogwarts Acceptance letter based on the original. I tweaked it to fit my needs and is not an exact replica of the original used in the movie. I chose to use black ink vs. using the green ink used in the film. I used burgundy ink to highlight the time, place and location. Granted, I changed all of my personal info into generic info for the photo. Good thing for that or I may have had weird mail or strangers show up at my door!
I'm at a crossroads with this one. Should I feel "flattered" that my photo and my design has been liked enough to be stolen? Or should I be pissed? This is something that happens to recording artists everyday, right? Seriously, though... it hasn't even been a month since I posted this image to my Flickr account! I think, in the end, I would prefer that people ask first. Oh well, right? At least my work/image is out there... without credit. Ugh!
